Southport Lions Club Boat Raffle returns on July 4th featuring our grand prize — the 2026 Carolina Skiff 19 LS (including Suzuki motor and Wesco trailer). The 19 LS safely accommodates up to eight people for years of family, fishing and fun. Second place prize is a one-year membership to Freedom Boat Club (of The Grand Strand) and the third place prize is $500 cash. Only 10,000 tickets will be sold!
The live drawing culminates on the last day of the official NC 4th of July Festival in Southport, which is part of the nationwide America250 Semiquincentennial celebration, honoring the 250th anniversary of American independence. Winners do not need to be present at live drawing.
The boat raffle is the primary fundraiser for the Southport Lions Foundation to help maintain its programs — providing assistance to charities, organizations and individuals in need. This event has been a tradition for over 40 years, and has evolved into one of Southport’s most anticipated activities.

80th Anniversary Family Day
and Car Show 2025
Southport Lions 2025 Car Show was held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Waterfront Park and throughout our beautiful downtown area. It was a great day of family fun, laughter, fellowship, good food, music, great cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Southport Lions would like to thank the City of Southport (including Mayor Rich Alt, Police Chief Todd Coring, and its citizens) for coming out and helping celebrate our 80-year anniversary.
Looking forward to the next eighty years of service to the community and beyond!
We also offer special gratitude to Fire Chief Charles Drew and the Southport Fire Department. During the day the Fire Department cooked for us and provided the community with 480 hamburgers and 320 hot dogs (at 1980 prices), of which, we only asked for donations.
Additionally, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to The State Port Pilot for their continuous support. To kick off our initial Car Club Challenge, the winning club was the Cape Fear Cruisers!

Southport Lions
Celebrating 80 Years of Service!
Lions Clubs International was formed in 1917 by a Chicago business leader, Melvin Jones with the idea of business professionals pooling their energy, talent, and resources toward the service of others. Today, Lions Club International is the world’s largest service club with close to 1.4 million members. The Lions motto, “We Serve,” reflects our commitment of service to our world, country, state, and community. Lions Club International is committed to supporting the visually-impaired and supporting sight conservation. Lions Clubs strive to improve the lives of the needy and offer the chance to catch the spirit of service.
80-Year Anniversay Southport Lions Club
Southport Lions Club (of Southport, NC) was established in 1945 by a group of concerned and dedicated citizens who wished to follow the ideas and principles of Lions Club International. Today it has over 50 members (women and men) and continues to grow and serve the city of Southport (and neighboring areas) in a wide variety of ways. We raise funds to provide support to numerous charities, host annual fundraising events, and assist individuals in need. We stress support for educational opportunities and assistance for area students. Southport Lions Club has been and continues to be a cherished community resource.
