Southport Lions
2026 Boat Giveaway Raffle

2026 Carolina Skiff 19-LS grand prize

Southport Lions Club Boat Raffle returned on July 4th featuring our grand prize — the 2026 Carolina Skiff 19 LS (including Suzuki motor and Wesco trailer). The 19 LS safely accommodates up to eight people for years of family, fishing and fun. Second place prize was a one-year membership to Freedom Boat Club (of The Grand Strand) and the third place prize was $500 cash.

The live drawing culminated on the last day of the North Carolina 4th of July Festival in Southport, which was part of the nationwide America250 Semiquincentennial celebration, honoring the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The boat raffle is the primary fundraiser for the Southport Lions Foundation to help maintain its programs — providing assistance to charities, organizations and individuals in need. This event has been a tradition for over 40 years, and has evolved into one of Southport’s most anticipated activities.

vintage green car

Southport Lions Club on Saturday, September 5, 2026 presents its annual car show. To honor our local firefighters and first responders, all proceeds and funds generated from the event will go directly to the Southport Rescue Squad Auxiliary Ballistic Vest Program. Additional activities will include a 50/50 raffle and silent auction, with special games, challenges, and prizes for participating car clubs.

All vintage vehicles will be displayed along Howe and Bay Streets in Historic Downtown Southport. General admission is FREE to the public, with a $25 registration fee for judged entries. Corporate or business sponsorships for the Southport Lions Foundation are $100. The festivities culminate with an awards trophy ceremony for automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles entered in the show.

What could be better — enjoying the Labor Day Weekend with family, friends, classic cars, hamburgers, hot dogs, the Southport Lions, and DJ Dave spinning good old rock ’n roll.

The display of the American Flag throughout Southport provides a sense of pride and patriotism. These displays leave a lasting and positive impression — on adults, young people, and the community at large (including visitors). Over 120 flag sites are sponsored by private businesses, local merchants, and individual Lions members. In past years, the project has raised over $2,800 — helping to support local charitable causes and vision programs. Flags will be displayed on the following holidays and special observances.

Meetings & Speakers

Format

Luncheon Meeting

Dates

1st and 3rd Thursday (each month)

Time

11:45 am – 1:00 pm
Visitors are always welcome.

The Southport Lions Board of Directors also meets privately, once-monthly, on the first Thursday of every month at 10:00 am (prior to the regular member’s luncheon meeting).

Two of our meeting days are reserved for an annual Officers Installation Ceremony and a Christmas Dinner. Various social events are also scheduled throughout the year.

Guest Speaker

We strive to have a speaker at every luncheon meeting. This is truly an important part of our overall program. Speakers usually give a 20‑minute presentation followed by a short Q&A session. Topics can range from local political matters and community events — to leisure activities, entertainment, and even sports. Many of our speakers discuss the merits of their charitable organization. Guest speakers dine at no cost.

If you are an administrator of such an organization or would like to speak to the Lions Club on a matter of local interest, we would greatly value your viewpoints at one of our meetings. Being a guest speaker can be an excellent way to promote your mission — while seeking financial or friendly support from our Club and its Members.
